I went through what I'd read in the last year. It's not nearly as much as normal, and not as wide-ranging, but it's way more than it felt like I'd read.
A superb read about wartime emigres making new lives and the pervasiveness of authoritarianism, plus a lot of posh people being self-absorbed.
Charming characters, failed romances and brilliant wit. But a giant gets the chop.
In 2022 I mainly focused on classic thrillers, as part of learning the craft for my current work in progress.
There are grave concerns about some of the political discourse in western nations. We must identify patterns and warnings from the past to better shape our future.
