I've had a bit more time for reading this month, so here are my notes on the books.
I went through what I'd read in the last year. It's not nearly as much as normal, and not as wide-ranging, but it's way more than it felt like I'd read.
A superb read about wartime emigres making new lives and the pervasiveness of authoritarianism, plus a lot of posh people being self-absorbed.
Charming characters, failed romances and brilliant wit. But a giant gets the chop.
In 2022 I mainly focused on classic thrillers, as part of learning the craft for my current work in progress.
Hurray, another major prime-time thriller on BBC1, by a hugely talented writer. Happy days… right? (Spoiler alert)
